Hello dear readers,
Before going any further, I want to thank everyone for your outpouring of support. Whether it has been through a follow or repost on Instagram, a submission, or encouraging conversations with me, I am endlessly grateful. This is a passion project, and passion projects are notoriously difficult to get off the ground. I won’t feel off the hook until we publish issue one, but I know that we could not have gotten even this far without the support of our community. So, from the bottom of my heart, thank you.
Now, what is next on our to-do list? My colleagues and I are currently in the process of reviewing all of the submissions we have received. We are excited to have received a little over 70 pieces (!) and we want to do a thorough and just job of reviewing each one. Therefore, as we are volunteers with other life responsibilities, this is taking us some time. However, our goal is to send out final decisions in early January so we have time to edit and format issue one as soon as possible.
The dream of Middle Mouse Press is to break down elitist barriers in the arts and amplify creativity in our community both locally and online. In the spirit of this, our goal is for our issues to be available for free as PDFs on our website. However, we also hope to run small prints of each issue as well for a small price to support production.
There will be more updates as we continue along this adventure. For now I once again want to thank you for your kindness and patience and wish happy holidays to those who celebrate.
Much love and light,
Trinity Lisk, Editor-in-Chief
