Mission statement

Here at Middle Mouse press we strive to be the opposite of pretentious, because there is enough of that in the creative community. We are dedicated to publishing less-than-perfect art and writing because we believe that all creativity deserves to be celebrated. We hope to uplift underrepresented voices and foster a community space where all people are comfortable creating and sharing their work.

Our story

Middle Mouse Press was founded in 2024 on big dreams in the humble state of Arkansas by our editor-in-chief and her very gracious friends. After a year of navigating the world of literary magazines, our EIC yearned for a place to put all of the “mid” creations that weren’t to par with the high-bar magazines but didn’t quite fit the niche experimental magazines either. A place for all the beginners, amateurs, hobbyists, and underachievers, equally alongside the prodigies and professionals. A place outside of the competitive culture, where the goal was simply the shared joy of creativity, not a groundbreaking magnum opus. Thus, from this yearning, Middle Mouse Press was born.
